    Favourite Aussie-made vehicle?

    Since our car manufacturing industry is shutting down, its time to get nostalgic. What's your favourite Aussie car? Some ideas here:

    My vote goes to our white EA Falcon wagon which, running on LPG and petrol, covered about half the country over several years and was VERY reliable, tough, handled most roads fine, towed trailers and even a horse float and was basically bullet-proof, roomy and comfortable (excellent aircon, auto and cooling system). What's yours?

    Read the article and they are still bagging out the Leyland P76! It was a far superior car to the "Big 3" at the time - ie Holden, Ford and Valiant, and of course, that was it's biggest problem. It was seen as a threat and the motoring journalists of the day gave it a bad rap. The engine was a variant of the famous Rover/Buick alloy 3500. To be fair it was made by Leyland and suffered the usual Leyland quality problems such as bits of trim falling off etc.

    Valiant VC. Comfortable, rugged, roomy, mechanically simple. I managed a fleet that had 70 of these as rep's cars. The most nearly maintenance and repair free vehicles we ever operated and the rep's loved them. Slant Six and Torqueflite. What could be better.
