    BMW steps up the ugly.

Saw a new BMW which is a 535i GT hatchback, i thought the X6 was the ugliest new car on the road but the 535 has topped it.

    Hi

Have only seen pics not the metal. Similar awkward shape to the X6. Maybe appealing to US tastes.

Manages the trick of looking large and heavy whilst offering a claustrophobic interior.

BMW is not alone in the ugly stakes.

Was looking at the latest Toymota Playdo update the other day (the company I work for has just bought a few).

Mr Toymota has given that model a fair old belt in the teeth with the ugly stick too. It seems that every new model / update they release just gets uglier than the last.

Perhaps Mr Toymota has recruited some styling people from Mr Ssangyong.

All they need now is to graft the rear end of a Ssangyong Stavic onto the front end of a Playdo and they'll possibly have developed the most hideous looking vehicle of all time.
    Cheers .........

You can always rely on a Range Rover to beat a BMW, and in my opinion the Range Rover Evoque beats the BMW 535i GT hands down in the ugly stakes.

Surely whether it's nice or nasty lies in the mind of whoever is looking at it. If you're a Beemer fan it's beautiful just like Deafeners are to some people. I generally like RRs but not this latest thing which I consider garish and purely for US tastes.
But younger bro loves it and has planned on getting one with the petrol V8 as soon as the warranty runs out on his RRS.
Maybe if I had his bank account I'd love it as well.
