I learnt this the hard way when I first wired up some lights on one of my work Prado's.
Same with Nissan, they switch the earth.

Thanks fellows, all fixed. It was the globe, although the filaments were intact.

It was not one of those rubbish blue things I hope, they have a very poor quality globe focus on a lot of them, and poor bulb to bulb base alignment which will give poor light beam spread, I use Narva 60/55 plus 50% in the D1 and it now has good lights, same with the RRC but through a New-Era twin fused relay, dropped from 90/100w to 55/60+50% and have the same light output

    cheers

No Uncle, 'twas a quality (Philips) 55/60 globe. It's in the Fairlane with plastic headlights, so max 60W. Goodness knows how old the bulb is, I'm not complaining. Replaced with the same.
