Hi,
It may seem silly but I have had success rewelding cracked plastic fenders on an old motorcyle using a large electrical soldering iron and plastic cable ties as filler material.
Have a look on YouTube or google plastic welding.
Good luck
Phil
Like a lot of Disco 2 owners, I have a cracked windscreen plenum cover. I have been playing with plastic welding, and am considering attempting a repair using stainless steel mesh on the back to give extra strength. This process requires the use of a compatible or the same plastic as a filler material to force through the mesh and bond to the plastic of the part being repaired.
The source of the filler material seems to be either to use the remains of an old destroyed plenum, or to find out what plastic it is made of and source some elsewhere.
Can anyone tell me what plastic the plenum is made of, or,(better still) is there someone in the Blue Mountains/Central West area of NSW who can let me have some of the remains of a totally destroyed plenum?
.

In all likelihood there will be a code on the back of the plastic moulding near the part no. which will tell you the plastic type.

I have a broken plenum here at Horsley Park, and can send you a piece. PM me your address.
