    Tote and Nic's US Tour

    Sooo..... we're on a holiday for 6 weeks across the US and I was wondering whether I would have anything worth posting. We have seen a few LR3s and an Ewok whilst on the road but today SWMBO just shook her head when I lurched across two lanes of traffic whilst yelling SERIES TWO!! on the road between Tallahassee and Tampa when I spotted a nice series two 88 parked on the side of the road at a disused servo.(too much lurching in the Jeep to take photos unfortunately)
    Today we saw the winner of the Disco 1 most likely to need castors on the roof award, pictures below, a 6"lift might look good on an F250 but on a Disco 1 it may lead to uncertain handling qualities should you encounter a corner.

    That Disco's a light conversion. We get some pretty wild lifts put on here in the States. Police seem to ignore them.

    Police will pull you over and ask you to do a search of your car if your plate lights are out, though.

    My sis got her Saturn ran over by a Ford F-250 while at a stop light. The guy said he didn't see her under the hoodline.

    Do you see many Defenders in the US? I thought they failed the crash tests and couldn't be sold there.

    Looks like an early model defender 90 estate with US spec lights and a "Safety Devices" 1/2 roll cage, nice bit of kit they were and they were a factory ZF auto

    Had a local dealer in the 70's. I test drove one in 1973. Very poor parts availability back then. Didn't buy it.

    I have only seen 4 since about 1965.
