Dewars (Durrs) track closure.
The above track has been open for many years from Two Rocks in Perth's far flung northern suburbs (south Geraldton?) up through Wilbinga and past some great beaches for fishing and camping.
But suddenly a Wanneroo council dept have decided to close it because it's getting over crowded (they say) and there "may" be accidents and this of course is only for the publics safety.
The decision is going before the full council this week but it's a forgone conclusion from their past "stop all off road activity" that the closure will remain.
Apparently the closure was decided by the Infrastructure management and was swiftly carried out all in one day.
A petition has been started but according to Geoff Hutchinson on ABC radio "It seems like a forgone conclusion" or words to that effect.
More bureaucratic closure for the very best of reasons, of course.
