Don't be a sook
Go with her and do some of the things they do in Europe and the UK like drive land rovers all over the place.
I loved Ireland Scotland and Wales and would go back again just to hire and drive a Series rover around in that lovely countryside.
It won't kill you to spend time with her and she is asking you to choose some of the things you do over there so get into it and make the most of it.

There is more culture in this yoghurt than some of you lot care for.
I love it when folk here say things like 'Australia is big enough' so what? so your going to stay here until you have seen every square km? before you go anywhere else?
Have you been before? You might be surprised. Europe (and the rest of the world) has a lot to offer, you lot need to get out more

I agree Sitec, If the one you want to be with wants you to be with her, no argument,GO![]()
Wait until you've been married before giving advice.
Better to go by herself and enjoy the trip than putting up with me complaining. After 3-4 days, I'll have had enough and will be ready to come home.
On our trip to Brissie last week, I'd had enough after 3 days and really didn't want to leave the hotel room. I was ready to come home.
I don't normally go away on holidays. I'm much happier staying home. I'm not all that keen on leaving home for any reason, even to go shopping. I've been wanting to go and buy a 5/16" UNC tap for the past 4 days but can't force myself to do so. It's all too much hassle.

I think you should let your wife go, and give her a break. It would do the both of you good, by the sounds of it. Then, get yourself some help. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

I can understand that. In my last job, I travelled and flew so much that it got to the stage where I could quite happily have not got any further than the end of my drive ever again.
One year I flew 225,000 miles, and in the worst week got on 21 flights. I enjoyed the experience overall, but enough was enough at that point.
It's hard to say Ron as to what is right and only you know that answer.
40+ years together must mean something, if nothing more than you enjoy each other's company. I would have taken you as being someone that would enjoy such a trip, kellie's parents did similar last year and loved it.
You should go, you need someone to give you a kick up the bum to get you there.if you go near York in the uk let me know and my dad would be sure to catch up with you both.
they have an amazing train museum if never visited.
Look forward to the trip report.![]()
Elisabeth went to the York rail museum last trip and brought home a lot of pix. She was planning to take me there.
She asked tonight if I'd like to go to Stonehenge and Caen Hill Locks in Wiltshire with about 29 locks in a row. I said no. She knows I'm mainly interested in engineering stuff, e.g., trains, dams, bridges, buildings (especially old), towers, etc. Not interested in art or music. I'm only going to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower.
I'd like to see the Forth Bridge but it's too far from where we'll be going.
She has suggested Beaulieu National Motor Museum. I doubt we'd go to Solihull - too far out of the way.
The things on my list are: Clifton Suspension Bridge and SS Great Britain - whilst in Bristol (and other stuff by Isambard Kingdom Brunel), Cutty Sark, HMS Belfast, Golden Hind
