Great suspension advice and great Rover advice

I recently decided that I would finally bite the bullet and seek a better front spring for my Disco 1.

When I first purchased my disco, 10 years ago I had no idea about springs, or Rovers for that matter. I was in QLD and when it came to deciding upon what suspension would be best, I took the advice of the local ARB dealer and subsequently installed ARB products. Over the years my needs have changed and more recently a softer, Rover like experience was what I wanted.

Just before Christmas I contacted Andrew from Les Richmond Automotive, conveying my current situation and then what I wanted to achieve. The new springs have been installed and they are spot on. Thanks Andrew.

Three years ago just before I did a Simpson desert trip, my rear ARB springs could not handle the weight I threw at them without the assistance of Poly Airbag Springs. Not happy with that solution, I rang Andrew from Les Richmond down in Melbourne. Andrew did the engine conversion on my Disco 1, from V8 to TD5. Andrew immediately provided a solution to my spring requirements. And, in the true form of Andrew they worked wonderfully.

It really is fantastic when you can be provided with expert Rover advice that works. I have purchased a few things from Les Richmond over the years and never once had an issue. Over the years since my engine conversion, 2006, I have referred a number of people (new to Rovers) to Les Richmond Automotive.

I think that on of the best things about owning a Rover is the Rover community forums such as this, but the fantastic advice and service and professionalism you get from true experts.

I have recently replaced my D1 300TDI front springs and shockers using Dobinsons springs and Max Track shockers (from REPCO) both are very good,my 85 RRC also has Dobinsons springs 2.5 year, and am very happy with both the ride and handling of same.

I have heard that standard height King springs work well also.
