Is "hindsight" really an apt choice of words considering the topic.

    For those thinking of going...

I have a mate who reckons these "naturist" weekend getaways are the way to go... so I asked for his advice etc and have made some notes of the information I gleaned that may help anyone going...
I shall go positive then negative points...

Firstly +, a naked man fears no pickpocket.
    - But remember that its coming into winter and that at a nudist colony bare butts are cool.

+ A nudist never has to hold out his hand to see if it is raining.
    - Never cook bacon when you're naked.

    + A harp is a nude piano.
    - Senior Citizen Nude Beach ahead. Watch for Golden Oldies

I passed a nudist Resort near here the other day and noticed the sign - "Sorry, Clothed for Winter."

    Other advice I gleaned...
Always swim nude. Sharks hate to peel their food.

My friend did tell me of some things that he has heard can happen at these places....
A guy applied to join a nudist club. "Exactly what do you do here?" he asked. "It's quite simple," said the club secretary, "We take off all our clothes and commune with nature." "Cool," said the guy, "Count me in!" So he paid his membership fee, took off his gear and strolled off.

As he walked along a path, he saw a big sign 6' high which read, 'Beware of Gays.'
A little further along he saw another sign about 4' high which read the same thing, 'Beware of Gays.'
He continued walking until he came to a small clearing which had a bronze plaque set in the ground.

He bent over to read the plaque and it said,
    'Sorry, you've had two warnings!'

He also told me about a man and a woman were celebrating their 50th anniversary. They were talking before their dinner about how they should celebrate their big evening. The woman decided she would cook a big dinner for her husband. Then he said they should do what they did on their wedding night and eat at the dinner table naked. The woman agreed.

They went to the nudist colony and booked a cabin...
Later that night at the cabin table,
the woman says, "Honey, my nipples are as hot for you as they were fifty years ago."
The man replied, "That's because they are sitting in your soup."

Anyway in spite of his advice I tried out this nudist colony myself...
I was sunbathing in the buff at the beach. For the sake of civility, and to keep it from getting sunburned, I had a hat over my private parts.

A woman walks past and says, snickering, "If you were a gentleman you'd lift your hat."

I raised an eyebrow and replied, "If you weren't so ugly it would lift itself".

    Lastly

I'd like to give a shout out to all the young attractive women who don't need to dress half naked to get a man's attention. Stay classy! The rest of you, come with me.

OK Im fnished now... If you are going...enjoy!

Here or in any other 4WD forum, really the discussion about the 4WD Nude Muster at the River Island nudist resort should be largely about the activities and competitions involving vehicles present. However, unfortunately instead comments are largely from people who have obviously never participated in social functions where it is acceptable to go nude in mixed company and many or all do. Especially swimming, for which bathers are generally just unnecessary things that cause trouble. Genuine nudists regard sexual misbehaviour or harassment objectionable as it drives people away.

The 4WD muster referred to is on a secluded private property and being a clothing optional resort, obviously many will choose to not wear clothes unless it is too cold or there are a lot of mosquitoes. Sometimes in hot weather the most uncomfortable time can be having to put them back on for some reason. Also, having everyone nude can be a good social leveller. The clothes people wear can sometimes say a lot about them eg hint at occupation, social status, income fashion tastes etc. Without them everyone is largely more similar to everyone else.
Most likely at the 4WD Nude Muster similar things could happen as an incident I saw described at a festival where going nude was acceptable and commonplace. There was a group of men engrossed in something going on. Could have been like looking at an interesting vehicle. Along came a naked woman who wanted something. (Maybe a chore job done.) She was initially totally ignored and had to yell to get attention. Her being nude was regarded as a non issue and probably some types of clothes, especially glamorous ones would have made the blokes take more notice.

Mox, I have been to the location and toured through it. Its a nice place.

But, although clothing optional locations are not an issue to for some including myself, it is a big topic of conversation for others and that should be welcomed. The big feature of this muster compared to every other of the hundreds of 4WD event in Australia is that it is clothing optional and you would expect that to be a large part of the conversation.
    Cheers
    Slunnie
