The Pugs are very cute, but not thrilled with us as it is cool and raining ATM. I think they prefer to be in a warm house on a warm lap.
They'll just have to suck it up - we love camping, even in this weather.

We found that by cutting the bottom off not only does it offer a great spark catcher but can also double as an "Oven top" when needed.
Not visible in any of my "above" shots is the bottom of the device (the top of the bottle) but around the removed valve hole we have drilled three 3/4 holes to facilitate a plentiful air flow.
The added metal ring around the valve guard bit of the bottle is purely to assist in stability.
This next shot shows the top trivet handle folded in for packing (The whole thing when packed, fits in a plastic industrial bucket (washing machine) -mainly to protect what ever is packed around it more than anything else.)
These (especially the smaller ones) work just as well with heat beads as wood for cooking although I find I can cook toast, bacon and eggs on just a couple of handfuls of twigs and sticks in the mornings.

Looks great Babs.
I would be a bit concerned about stability especially on uneven or soft grounds.
Perhaps a set of legs instead of the top for a base.
I have a different one part built, more like an Auspig but made out of a keg.For leg fittings I bought 1" plumbing fittings to weld on then screw legs into them. The legs also come from the Bunnings plumbing dpt.
