Thread: DR BRENDAN NELSON at the NATIONAL PRESS CLUB 23/04/2014

THIS IS THE MAN WHO SHOULD BE OUR PRIME MINISTER.

Brendan Nelson, has such a tremendous knowledge and grasp of global politics.

His address was about the European Union, our involvement in NATO, Australia's future over the next decade and his new role as Director, National War Museum.

If you have opportunity to see transcript of this address I recommend it.

It is totally non political and his tributes to former PM's, the demise of the Howard govt and his own personal reasons for leaving parliamentary politics shows just what type of person he really is.

When seeking advice on furthering his political career and aspirations to become PM , one of his colleagues told him....you are not bad enough or mad enough to become Prime Minister.....and I believe it.

He is certainly doing a good job at the AWM. I buy the AWM magazine, "wartime", [ don't be put off by the title, it is an excellent magazine ] Dr Nelson has a foreword in 'reflections' at the beginning of the book. Since he took over as director, there have been some subtle changes, for the better , I think, in the presentation & content of the magazine. You would have to say he has some influence there. I believe there have been some upgrades to the museum, as well. Must go for a good look. Bob
