Yes, the BBC have done the proper & ethical thing by terminating his contract but they were perhaps the only mouthpiece Clarkson could effectively use to sprout his brand of humour unbeholden to commercial interests.

Does he have to go back to television? I think his writing has been quite successful.
If I were him, that is what I'd be doing.

After reading so many posts about Top Gear , or about Clarkson . I can see there are those that like him , and give a supportive opinion . Then there are those that don't like him and are scathing of him . The way I see It we can come on this forum and say what we like , good or bad about him . Yet if he says something that we don't like . There are those queuing up with there swords to cut his head off . I suppose at the end of the day he doesn't give a rat's arse what any of us think . I don't think he will be going down to the job centre as a result of loosing his job . I think he would be an interesting man to sit down and have a beer with . Jim..

Regardless of whether or not he needs to do TV as well as print media, his face may not be pretty, but it sells airtime. The commercial networks will all be driving dump trucks of cash over to his place to try and secure his brand. Sure, he may be a lightning rod for every left wing interest group, but he gets people watching and talking. In this day and age news coverage is just about the best marketing exposure you can get.

Correct. And the writing is tailored to his, James & Richard's style of delivery not to mention the amount of non-scripted material. So that pretty much spells the end of Top Gear as we know it.

i dont watch top gear (because i dont have time, not cause i dont like it)
but clarkson is topgear.
