    Sportsmanship.

Heroic jockey warned after saving rival

And horsemanship, I think she did well and was wrongly disciplined.

Yup! looks like an automatic reaction, and could not be seen as interference,by any narrow minded official.

IMHO race stewards should be removed and disqualify to be involved in the future of the sport.
They only qualify as the typical do-gooders that affect our life in many different ways
Back to my glass of port, it is cold tonight here in "tropical" Tasmania

Most of the stewards would be to fat to ride a horse, so they would have no clue as to what a true act of sportsmanship they witnessed.

Take my hat off to her.

I watched the AFL footy the other night i think it was Gold coast v Hawthorn and the Gold Coast full back walked straight up to the Hawthorn full forward and shook his hand, that put a smile on my face as it shows respect, something junior footy kids should be taught, but its game on once the ball is bounced.

Good on her. But I would never call the quaint 18th century upper crust pastime of horse gambling a sport.

She's not gambling, she's taking part in the sport of (horse) racing.

Those stewards are a bunch of miserable turds,it kind of reminds me of when Peter Brock gave Dick Johnson a lift back to pit lane after dick put the green's tuf falcon into the trees at Bathurst. Holden were not happy with Brock for giving a Ford driver a lift. It's a shame sportsmanship is dying part of life.

Maybe great horsemanship (or whatever the gender neutral term for that is), but as far as sportmanship goes, it pales into insignificance compared with John Landy's effort.

Unlike Landy, she didn't do a lot to reduce her own chances of winning.

Australian distance runner John Landy, the second man to run a mile in under four minutes, was chasing the world 1500m record in 1956 at the Australian National Championships. Another Australian legend, Ron Clarke, was in the lead when he stumbled and fell. As the other runners passed Clarke, Landy jogged back to help him to his feet and abandoned all hope of breaking the world record. However, Landy’s race wasn’t over. Coming from well behind, he displayed amazing speed and endurance over the last two laps to win the race only six seconds outside the world mark.

That is the sort of sportsmanship you seldom see today.
