 You are spot on Medic...but the nightmare scenario of the LR brand being dissolved into Ford will not happen, or at least I would not think so.
As with most large companies, the 'brand' is a more valuable asset than much of the tangible infrastructure of companies. As we have seen with Jaguar, Aston Martin etc etc, Ford has recognised that these brands hold more value than the 'Ford' brand would in their respective market segments.
It is unlikely, except for probably in the US, that Ford would 'badge-engineer' LR products. Ford in the 4x4 market in Australia means 'Exploder' and the F-series....Land Rover is easily the more respected brand.
I am becoming more and more comfortable with the Ford marriage and see that the relationship can actually deliver more strengths to LR, especially in terms of marketing and distribution.
