Well said, young Mr Muppet. When you are elected to the council of Elders, you must remember your responsibilities. Study this mods 101 carefully, Bob

Are mods elected? I thought they descended from heaven, full-formed and ready for action, in the arms of fearsome angels, blasted away all obstacles (including previous mods) like Putin did in Crimea and occupied the joint. Actually, there's quite a resemblance (particularly the beanies) between Tombie's avatar and some of the Russian thugs Putin has sent into the Ukraine.

There are several stories about how the Mods came to be.

    Story one:
Mods are picked based on a highly secretive and rigorous selection course, makes the SASR cater course look like a holiday.
Afterwards they're presented with their green and yellow beret, and undertake intense training in areas such as Quick Response Bans, Free-fall infractions, forum surveillance and infiltration, Navigation of the mod pen, etc.
They're stone cold keyboard killers, flexible and well trained in 1001 ways to infract you with their little finger only.

    Story two: North Korea version.
The gods cast aside the gates of heaven and the mods streamed forth in glorious displays of comradeship. The mods created all beauty and wonder in the world, including the hamburger and the James Bond films. All mods score perfect holes in one on every hole of every Golf course. The mods are loved.

Story three: The mods don't exist. They're figments of the imaginations of the mentally ill.

However Mods are 'appointed', there should be consistency between them. There are far too many different rules, seems to just depend on who the Mod is at the time!?!?! There needs to be a standard benchmark.

There is a benchmark. The rules.
Inc has posted before that the mods often let things 'self moderate'.
Don't forget unless the mods are in on the conversation, it takes someone using the report button to get them in.
They're also average people just like us. Sometimes they make mistakes.
I commend them on the effort they make, I wouldn't want to do it.

Well I would love to do it. Maybe we need more mods?? And Inc has already pointed out the clear as mud rules to me. Plus, I'm not denying its a ***** of a job, but come on, some consistency would be lurvely!
