    New Enterprise Incentive Scheme

    Hello All,

I have come across a site about the government's New Enterprise Incentive Scheme where individuals can get assistance to set up their own business. Has anyone been down the NEIS path? Did it end happily ever after or did it turn out to be a thing out of a nightmare?

    The government site is ...

I am still on the job hunt despite being pretty much blind at the moment. I have been applying for jobs around Australia and I had a telephone job interview at 1:00 pm today. I should find out either on Friday or early next week how I went. Bit of a long story - it is the third interview for the same organisation where one advertised role morphed into a different job. I was informally offered the first role.

Well we will see how I go for the latest effort of applying for work.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

I went through NEIS when I started my handyman & gardening business 9 years ago. I'm still going, but of the 23 people in my NEIS course I think only 2 others are still going.

I know a number of legally blind people who have jobs in banks... just a thought

    G'day Alex,

Thank you for the reply and a degree of optimism.

I am quasi-blind. With Rigid Gas Permeable Lens with the right prescription I can see okay. Without contact lenses that I am currently banned from wearing until I get a new set - then I am legally blind.

This means I fall in-between the cracks. Or at least stumble over them due to not seeing the little suckers

    Kind Regards
    Lionel
