Are you sure there wasn't a 60 sign before the 40? There should have been, speed reductions are supposed to come down in (maximum) 20kph increments.
I was driving along Welllington Road Rowville this morning and there has been roadwork in progress for over a week. '
There is a black and yellow sandwich board advisory sign saying "Workman 40 ahead". Then about 100 meters further down the red circled 40 kph signs started to appear.
What I noticed a black commodore wagon Speed camera car parked on the nature strip next to the workman 40 ahead sign.
It's 80 kph on the road before you get to the advisory sign, as I passed the workman 40 advisory sign I was slowing down and doing about 60 kph, slowing down to hit the 40 kph sign.
Just a little suspicious about a camera car parked next to an advisory sign

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
I'd have gone straight back and taken a photo of it's location .... just incase I'm going to court soon over a speeding fine.
So much for 'Australian Road Rules'![]()

I was going to a 4x4 day at Narbethong the other weekend and at Lilydale the main road just past the level crossing, two cars going marginally faster just got in front of me & copped a flash. Then I see a fixed speed camera, just like a traffic light camera. Its 50kph there & I doubt they were much more than 53-54 kph![]()
I copped that one last month.
Come on guys, it's just like the ad says, they're preventing all the trauma that everyone goes through when there's a car accident.
I know it's true, the Macquarie Bank ad for them said so.
Wait....who own's the cars again?
