The Govt - damned if they do, damned if they don't.
I'm an altruist by nature - unfortunately Ebola isn't following my schedule of morality. In this case I think sending health care workers to the virus epicentre is a token of participation rather than a fruitful solution. Of the few workers willing to be sent over - do any have comprehensive training to manage Ebola and hit the ground running? It's not a situation where errors in methodology are lightly forgiven. Or do we send lesser trained personnel over with nothing more than a crash course in high-fatility epidemic management? Unless the situation is win-win then the idea should not be entertained at all.
And beyond the management of the virus in infected patients, there's language barriers to deal with, cultural barriers, educational barriers, religious barriers, poverty barriers, ethnicity barriers... we'd merely be clipping branches of the virus than striking at the root. If local knowledgable and altruistic leaders at the epicentre can't deliver the necessary information clearly with all the channels available, what hope do foreigners have?
Now Ebola is a hoax and conspiracy.

Thanks to the Internet, dirty things done by "powers that be" can now be much more quickly and readily exposed than in the past. Looks like the current Ebola epidemic - or supposed one is a manufactured crisis. Particularly to promote US interests in West Africa. Interesting to check popular stories in yesterdays (ie 16th October) in Monrovia, Liberia local media. www.liberianobserver.com ie "Formaldehyde in water allegedly causing Ebola like symptoms", "Ebola, Aids manufactured by western Pharmaceuticals UD DoD" and "The Ebola campaign coincided with UN vaccination campaign."
The nurse in Cairns was treated in the emergency ward, along with every one else. Luckily she didn't have ebola, but the protocols were not in place. Hopefully, they are now. Qld health have purchased a mini isolation chamber, fitted it to an aircraft, in order to transport a patient to Brisbane, to be treated. They were no better prepared in Texas, Bob

Ebola crisis: United Nations warns the world has 60 days to get the disease under control
.THE countdown is officially on.
The UN has warned the world has just 60 days to get Ebola under control, or face an “unprecedented situation for which we don’t have a plan”.
A new report issued by the organisation’s health arm, the World Health Organisation, says the virus “is running faster than us and it is winning the race” as it sweeps West Africa and has begun to make its way across the globe.
I see a medical professional has refused to stay isolated in the USA. Why would you do that. Sorry can't post link. Is it a statement or stupidity. I would think caution would be the best option?.
