Just finished reading a book on the history of the papacy, oldest continuous public office on earth! More interesting than it sounds but your map helps highlight the constant changes in Europe etc.

SubscriberThank you for that, by coincidence, I've just finished reading about a man who has declared himself Caliph of the Caliphate declared in Syria & Iraq. Apparently he wants to reinstate the borders that were declared by Europeans, after the First World War. Interesting times, indeed, Bob
