Great name. Where did you get Mr Carter from. Our Black Lab is Mr Jones. I haven't heard another Mr. name until now.

Aulro has a dog adoption scheme Just ask Gav "Homestar" It was one his friends that had the hound up for a new home. And as we like a bit of a challenge we took him on. So far he has got us settled in to his routine quite well. I just call him mister because of his nature and I believe Carter should have a silent i in it just after the t as he thinks he`s pretty special. Four years old and still chewing shoes. My last summer sandals where the latest to be given a working over. They where not left out, bugger sniffed them out though from under our bed. If our last Lab is to go go by he will grow out of chewing when he is around ten or so.

Yep, we had a friend staying that was moving back to NZ permanently to look after her Mother - Carter was her first dog and I’m not sure she had much of an idea. I believe he was also abused by the original owners Brother who she used to live with.

Carter is a wonderful dog, just a bit misunderstood and his lack of social skills means he’s just a big boofhead. Would have kept hi if we could once our friend left but we had 3 other dogs so this was out of the question unfortunately.

I’m so glad Hall has given him a new home and that Mr Carter now has him trained well. 👍😊

Well she's in over night needs stitches, found what she's cut her foot on also. She would have jumped through my timber/steel rack behind the shed to get a rabbit and the corner of small piece of tin sliced her foot blood everywhere...lucky we were outside so she came over to us so i wrapped it up. She had a 4 inch slice across the top of her paw which had taken a flap of skin off and left a deep gash at one end of the cut. Vets reckon she's sliced a tendon or artery, but it's all fixable at least. Gonna cost $1600 to patch her up, small animal vets are criminals. I've had worse injures on my horses (kill bill style blood squirting out) or a stray dogs taken a grapefruit size chunk out of ones rump and it's cost half that including the call out fees at 9pm at night....
Generally we patch our animals up ourselves but this was pretty deep, if she needs stitches I ain't gonna do it just to save a dollar....
She's gonna be on lockdown for a while, she's been catching more rabbits and foxes being springtime so she's getting dumb and cocky.....

    Cheers Jim

    Same cancer as ours?

They are fantastic breed, when the time comes we will get another.

Ours has more stamina and will work for longer than my sons Koolie, which is same age

Their stamina and drive is amazing, then when at home, inside, they just switch off

Very similar to ours, same colour scheme, and built solid.
Got the same look in his eyes.

There is enough pics of mine on here,i don't want to bore everyone with more

Anyway, latest on ours, she had the 35cm cut on one underneath side, two weeks ago, took out all the mammary glands, lymph nodes etc.
The other side was done in two stages.

She has had a massive tummy tuck.
Hasn't affected her in the least, still keen to run around all day, like nothing has happened, dogs are certainly bloody tuff.

All the tests on the last lot of removed tumours were benign which is fantastic.

Cost me an arm,leg and both kidneys, but what do you do?

For the last op we took her to a specialist, and they were very good,as they do this type of work all day.
