Thread: Yalwal trip

OK D95, i've made tentertive plans for Yalwal assuming the gates are open i was going to see if i could camp down near the creek on Yarramunmun track if not or too crowded i will look at some backup camp spots i have from 24th to the 28th off so what is good for you.

How about the 27th. How long were you going to camp for? We've got a place down there if you want a bed for a night.

ive heard that there are closed gates which require keys from npws or rangers or council. worth making a few enquiries before a long drive for nothing.

I'm going to be down there anyway Tony, so it's really no skin off my nose. I've heard they're starting to put gates in but it's not closed off yet.

the suzuki club was down there a few weeks ago and had to obtain keys to gain access to the closed gates. they had a good chat with who ever they needed to and managed to get them but im not sure who they spoke to.

how much of it was closed off , i couldnt tell you. i wasnt able to go

it wont hurt to make a couple of phone calls to be sure, but there are definately some gates somewhere. thats all i can tell you.

i will try and find out more about it tonight for you.
i gotta go pick up the kids soon.

Friday we are leaving to go down and staying till tuesday then leaving, the gates are locked at Yarramunmun & don't know about Monkey Gum i think thats where the other gates were so might look at getting down there by Yalwal road or Deans Gap or if that fails a camp site near there if there is any, this map i'm looking at doesn't show any camp sites near Yalwal SF.
