That looks like a pretty good hillclimb maggot.
I would have to say my most memorable was the trip to the watagans, that day I found out just how capable the disco actually is.
The hill is well over 40deg for most of the way and very loose. Glad for the 350chev and 35's that day.
Theres nothing quite like a V8. Matt

one of my better ones,, ( Landy moments that is)
after coming down the hill FROM Rainbow to Freshwater and turning (blind) left there is a straight run to the Freshwater car parks of about 500 metres. it had been raining heaps ( must have been '03 ?) and the track was two very deep grey slush wheel ruts, a very quick downchange to 3rd then full noise along the straight, leaving diff marks ( and in lots of places, not necessarily tyre marks ) nearly all the way.
At the end there were half a dozen guys standing around their cruisers that applauded :!:
must've heard me coming 8O

But there is nothing like diesel economy.
Good work pedro, you have to show these cruiser guys how to do it. Matt
Another landy moment that comes to mind, When I was about 16, living in WA the old man had a 1981 series III ute. We were cruising along the beach somewhere around a spot called Tims Thicket (we used to fish the area quite a bit) Coming along the beach there was a large group of guys in Patrols and Cruisers having a go at this huge dune, taking it in turns. Some struggled up, just, others made it halfway before coming to a stop. Dad thought he'd give it a go, so lined up for his shot, gunned the holden six, and tore off up the dune. Needless to say he pi$$ed up it, turned around and drove back down to the cheers of the guys watching. We continued off down the beach, and Dad smugly announced, "hey I forgot to put it in 4WD" 8O
Ahhh if only the guys struggling in their nissans and toyotas new that
We should compile a book, and call it, Landy 1, Jap Crap None. MattQuote:

A lot of my mates had toyotas in the past. I'd always point out the fact that my series ute would go further than theirs. May not get you there fast, but it'll get you there.
