Couple of things about this thread...

a) Chucaro, your idea about tossing prisoners down a mine shaft and throwing road kill in every now and again is an interesting one, made more interesting by you being the one to suggest it.

You have long held a hard line against regimes who torture or treat prisoners of anytype inhumanely, now you are the one advocating it??? Maybe this is how those regimes started doing it?

b) People complain about the big operation, about the time taken to 'pounce' and about the fact that there is only so much can be proven and so some are detained and then released after interview...

Either you want Police and ASIO to operate by the rules or you dont... make your mind up... But in the meantime be very wary about whats happening here, this may have stopped you or someone you know being abducted and beheaded at random.

c) this is all a distraction by the Govt to distract people from what the government is doing. or to distract you from the fact they arent keeping election promises and are changing their proposed budget

What a load of crap, how did the Govt get ISIS up and going?? How did the Govt set up this terrorist plot??
Maybe the election promises arent being kept due to the massive lies told about the state of the budget prior to the election....

and this happens both ways so dont even bother jumping up and whinging Im not interested.

Lastly,... how this is not now a thouroughly political thread Im stuffed if I know.. People are already starting to snipe.

Nothing at all wrong with this thread. It's an important topic,....so what, if there are different views? I think the discussion's been good. There are some VERY knowledgeable (NOT ME) people on here who really do know some of the background of what's happening, I enjoy reading it and learning.
