They managed to plug the leak Mick, they had 3 goes at pumping stuff in to stop it.

    It was deeply unpleasant.

    My sympathies...

Mine was the opposite, a fluid-filled cyst that blocked the flow of Brain fluid. Headaches, stiff neck/pain, and with hindsight... deterioration of some mental processes etc.
They poked a sharp pipe through the brain.... (Yes, also go the CT and MRI scans to prove both allegations) and made a 'by-pass'.

Shrt story and Bottom Line is... it seems that any 'insult' to the brain is going to result in ...temporary dis-ordered thinking/memory/mental stability, just as a cardiac intervention targets one's 'emotional stability' for a while...

The Good News is...as I suspect you've already noticed... things eventually meander back towards what was normal. How long.... is an individual thing.

And yes, been in that Dark Place too.... and out again.

    Cheers,

    james in Gosnells WA.

That certainly sounds like fun you wouldn't want to repeat James!

The explanation i was given by the neurologist is that brain/nerve tissue heals at a much slower or very inconsistent rate compared with other tissues. Healing time? Think of a number and double it.

It took a year before the bulk of my symptoms had subsided. The worst of it is gone now, I tend to get headaches when I'm tired, and my left eye aches at the same time.

Gee, you did well ! My Exalted Surgeon was so rushed off his feet that he had no time to waste on talking (in any depth) to a mere...patient.

But they apparantly talk to each other... Got my *Psych. Assesment back yesterday... learned a bit more about my conditions that could only have come from the Surgeon's Office / his Minions.
Anyway, I reckon I got off Very Lightly...

    * Something I initiated, as I wasn't happy with my recovery...

Anyway, what are YOU doing up, - so late at night ?
