I subscribed shortly after i joined, as I saw the value of information available in this place.

As Dave has said, some will like it, some wont.

I firmly believe that every single person has gained some new piece of information from this site, that if they had to gain from other sources, could have potentially cost them many more $$$ than a subscription.

If someone doesn't "want" to pay for "giving" information, then don't. But please don't take any information from this site either.



And, if I am required to supply my name, rank & service number, then I will. (Just incase someone thinks I may be a bus driver or a Major General :P )

The whole point is ensuring the information is around in the event, non-religious figure forbid, something happens to Dave.
It's been here what, 12 years? 13? More? That's a lot of blood, sweat, and server tears gone into this place. And it's more than a forum, it's a community. One that I'm proud to support

Before this became necessary, the subscribing issue, I recognised what a great place for info and help this forum is. I let my basic subscription run out and renewed with a gold subscription.
It's not much per year for the return considering what we get out of it.

I see a lot of long time members and high posters are just "subscribers" ......is the forum, your forum not worthy of at least a silver subscription?
Cmon you guys, get behind the forum and put you dollars in to keep it going.
(This is not a criticism, merely a suggestion, and I have put my money where my mouth is)

I'm sure considering what we spend on these cars of ours that a considerable number of us can afford it after all.

Couldn't agree more. I know that I've gained way more than I've ever contributed to this place, both in information and entertainment, and in the people I've met through here.

As far as I'm concerned, it would still be well worth it at double the price.

But seriously - I'm glad to know that you're not an Adelaide bus driver.

Had one of them run up the rear end of my old Pontiac in Jetty Road Glenelg years back. Couldn't drive a greasy stick up a dog's bum that bloke .......

But at least I kept out of the way of the trams.

Now when you first made your point or voiced your opinion.

I thought fair enough nothing wrong with someone pointing out the cons to a situation (however your point has already been discussed to death amongst all mods before you even bought it up. The negatives of what is being done we are fully aware of. ....)

What bothers me though is when asked how you would do it; as you claimed its not the way forward you copped out with a "Its not about me" truth be known I dont think you know the answer do you?
because if you were helpful and constructive and really concerned about how its going to effect the forum you would offer that idea so all those people that will not subscribe would continue on getting a free forum.....

I can assure you if there was a way to keep it free I guarantee you Dave would do it.

your not giving your opinion really now, you're trolling. you said you felt like an argumentative so that's what your doing creating and trying to fuel an argument

So by all means give some constructive criticism...but simply saying its not going to work over and over and whining about how you have to pay to give information to another person is not offering constructive criticism.

As said before the choice is yours you don't have to support if you don't want to, that is totally up to you! and we would be sorry to see any member leave if they felt that the $11 a year was just to much.

However keep up with the trolling you may not need to worry about any of it anyway just sayin..
