The cardinal points are still the same.

The sun still rises in the east.

If you use a clock for a compass you will still go in the right direction.

Perhaps you have been there often enough to have become accustomed to the sun being in the wrong part of the sky. After all, what I am talking about is my instinctive reaction.

If necessary, I could use a clock to figure out where north is, but that wouldn't eliminate the feeling that something was wrong.

My calculations might be right, but my gut instinct would be wrong.

As an infrequent visitor north of the Tropic of Capricorn, I even found something mildly disturbing about where the sun was at midday in summer in Darwin. I could work out directions, but the point is I had to think for a moment to work it out instead of it just being instinctive.

Mate, unlike aussstallia, the sun in the north pommy land Russia Germany etc. well you are never actually sure if they have a sun, well not that often and when it is visible its only around for a day at best. and its a lot lower.

they do other things, moss on the south side of a tree. but then you have to locate a tree not totally covered in moss. and if your in a town, its hard to spot the tree under the pile of dog poo.

    Quite correct

and when traveling Fanta, usually more available than coke. 1/4 glass and worm water. makes it flat. works well. add crushed charcoal, ( which floats) if you guts are a bit lose as well.

actually this has been a topic in my house, just flicked off a chick who with all good intentions could not get it though her head that by mixing up weak cordial for minime when camping was better than water. along with her wish to Ban fluoride, chicken farms coffee beer steak, bacon and eggs, etc.

I guess that last straw was when i said the push bike she rode all the time ( anti cars) made her private bits num so she was like sleeping with a log. now i have to fix the door frame

Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't the sun risen in the East & set in the west for some time now,[ doesn't matter where it is, North or South] & don't creeks flow down hill. In that area, normally west to east? [ eventually] anyway, Qlds finest will get to the bottom of it, Bob

I've been lost for nearly 62 years! How much is my story worth????
Maybe U3A could do a paper?

P.S. My directional ability in Oz is excellent ( part of my occupation) but, put me in Europe & I have to raise my consciousness for cardinal points

If she did do what has been reported then she is actually a very sensible girl.
This may or may not be a true case.
Either way lots of dollars for the story to come.
Now maybe I should try this diet.
Remember the rule of 3. 3 minutes without oxygen, 3 days without water, 3 weeks without food. Just a general rule, eg in the desert 1 day without water may do you in.

I'm in Italy right now. It is 1.00pm and I am facing the sun. The compass shows I am facing south. It does take a while to get used to. It still sets in the west though.

Raises in the East, sets in the West. Everywhere. Bob
