Import a high HP snow plow and see who will willing stay out front. I see enough road stupidity every day , I dont wish to contribute to make a dollar.

This is one case (or industry sector) that should be included in the chain of responsibility legislation that applies to every other part of the transport industry.

(If they run trucks it probably already does.)

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

The speed limit law that's pushed here is "50 km/hr unless otherwise posted", which is fair enough (though it's a stupid speed).

The downside is the number of 'safe' drivers who don't watch and miss the signs and so drive everywhere at 50.

Just up from me, there's a stretch that's 80km/hr because it's basically a wide road through bushland and despite being well sign posted, it's surprising the number of times you get caught behind someone doing 50

Actually, on that same stretch, it's surprising the number of times you come flying up behind someone, slow down to their speed, then realise they were doing the speed limit

When I started getting this sort of stuff happen at one of my jobs, I really did tell them to shove it. The GPS they had fitted in the vehicles recorded the average speed and top speed for a 10 minute period. I once got removed from my van for a week because on the way home from work I overtook a slow driver and the top speed showed 114, even though the average speed showed was 79. I had the last laugh as I travelled too and from work that week on my motorbike and overtook my boss serval times doing, well, shall we say - much faster than that. He complained to me that he didn't like me riding the bike to and from work as he thought it was dangerous. I asked him if he was my Mum or something, then quit a couple of weeks later on...

My pet hate is when i am sitting in the right lane on the Bruce Highway going north (all the ******* come out on that road) and overtaking the vehicle on the left -so I am following other cars and im leaving 3-4 seconds behind the car in front of me - still overtaking, still trucking along quickly compared to the left lane and doing the same speed as the cars in front of me...ie I have nowhere to go and getting closer to the cars in front of me will not move the right lane along quicker...then some tosser roars around to the left between 2 slower cars in the left lane and pulls in front of me a car length ahead thus reducing my distance momentarily to less than a second and then produces the middle finger...then roars up and tailgates the vehicle in front at 110kph plus...what the hell is wrong with people.

    Cheers

Jumped on this thread rather late but I will offer this:
I've been living and working in Melb (down from Bris) most of this year and I am appalled at the speed most Melb drivers travel at. Consistently 5-10 km below the posted limit. No wonder there are jams and rage! I often travel the westgate and routinely am the only one going the posted speed. Annoying.

    Cheers

I've just spent a few days down in Perth, where on the freeways and major divided roads, the left lane/s move faster than the right lane/s.

A very high percentage of Perth drivers couldn't drive a greasy stick up a dog's arse.
    Cheers .........

Heh heh - that is because the left lane is kept clear for the merging and exiting traffic, and of course for passing the slow cars doing 5-10 kph below the speed limit in the right lane. 😁

And if you do show your displeasure with the slow traffic in the right lane, they act as if you are at fault. 😡

Four cars and a D3 in the last several years. None of which show the right speed. D3 is very close with 17 inch Mts on but out but 4 or so with the 18 inch ATs.

Wifes drive A new Toyota lexus RX thing was 8 under when showing 100kph (in 2005). took a lot of grumpy discussion to get them to fix it or almost fix it as they claim the ADRs allow speed to be up to 10 under but never over!

Australian Design Rules saddly do allow that so some of the people thinking you are a hoon overtaking them honestly think they are doing the speed limit.

My Cousin brought a car back from Japan, new wheels to get it registed here. He was following my towing a boat behiond Ahem- my Lada Niva and thought I was doing 120! A russian hoon I was not!

His speedo was out by at least 20kph!
