So no more stethoscope to tune the bank of Webers,

I had/have a mate, old bugger, Reg Ansett's first apprentice, worked in the same workshop in Hamilton for nearly 50 years, now he was a mechanic.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

We are still waiting for someone to make a decent front recovery point.

    Baz.
I am busy helping a mate that's new to 4 wheel driving set up his ute. Would you perhaps know if someone is making recovery points for these vehicles.
I have just tried ARB and TJM but neither of them make recovery points for the Rok.

Is the Amarok affected by the engine pollution scandal and if it is how does it get registered, Regards Frank.

    Hi Tank,
I am not up with latest information on the VW saga. I can only assume it is not affected as they purchased the vehicle a few weeks back.

Latest generation of Amarok is not affected Frank. They have an updated engine, which does not include the "cheat" programming.

Shaun has checked, and his is not subject to any re-call / update etc. also very easy to check on the VW website which models are affected.

But even those which are affected have no problem being registered in any state in Australia. They are not in breach of current Australian emissions standards.
    Cheers .........

I'll bet this breach has cost VW a lot of customers, would be a good time to be bargaining for a new VW, regardless of whether it meets Australian standards, mud sticks, Regards Frank.
