    i've found the best value for money is the G.M. winch. they come in all drive configurations, are low maintenance, remote mount, can pull from any direction, add no weight to your landy, draw no power from your battery, and cost you no money.
    i carry a tirfor in case my Good Mate's winch breaks down or cannot pull him from his predicament.

    Mile marker are the oppstion to Warn in the US, so i have been told.
    I have heard that Taiwan makes reasonable gear as they take care with the metallurgy at least compared with the PRC.
