The Sand Creek massacre a massacre of Native Americans Americans would like to forget

I have the book, Bury my heart at Wounded knee. This is part of the overall story, of the treatment of Native Americans, during and after the Civil War Bob

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

The US has a disgusting history of human rights abuse that many Americans choose to ignore or even acknowledge. Things have improved but much more still needs to be done. I have been told the American Indians are one of the worst treated native people in the world.

I would hazard a guess that the Americans aren't the only nation guilty of this type of behaviour. You could look a little closer to home as a start.......

im not trying to take away what happen as being wrong, but times were different then, it was a different culture. i dont think its right to judge past events with todays standards.

Col. Chivington believe he was doing the right thing. that doesnt excuse what he did but it does give some insight into what he was thinking.

Damn any man who sympathizes with Indians! ... I have come to kill Indians, and believe it is right and honorable to use any means under God's heaven to kill Indians. ... Kill and scalp all, big and little; nits make lice.

I know what your saying, and I am not ignorant to Australia's history either. But this thread is not talking about Australia's history.
