Every Coles ad in the past 2 years...
In fact, any ad where the company tries to make a stupid Jingle... You're not helping your chances of me shopping with you. I remember you for how much you annoy me and steer well clear.
Well I like the Specsavers seal one.
It was filmed on Currumbin beach from my knowledge of the location.
The interesting thing to me is that the first shot of the seal appears to be live as the shadow is correct, so they must have a trained seal from SeaWorld.
The second shot is photoshopped in as the shadow of the seal is incorrect.
I like the humour.
I have a little hobby of trying to work out where ads are filmed. Some are surprising like the Tic Tac ad on a beach near Alicante. ( I Think)
Anyone know where the latest Mazda 2 ad is filmed? RHD but strange number plates.
Where is the annoying one about the bloke who takes the breath freshener then rides with the bikies? I think maybe Germany.
Holden ads in NZ.
Many of the ads now are US with Australian voices dubbed, like the Sc Johnson ones.

You know MOJO made/make a fortune out of jingles Eg" You ought to be congratulated, Meadow Lea"In fact, any ad where the company tries to make a stupid Jingle... You're not helping your chances of me shopping with you. I remember you for how much you annoy me and steer well clear.
I was very disenchanted to learn that the Sanitarium ad with the jingle "Aussie Kids" was a direct and blatant knock off of the UK Weetabix campaign . I only got to know as the Sanitarium manager invited me to a meeting with MOJO and they were discussing the two ads.
Weetabix UK hate Sanitarium because of that and do all they can to prevent them from selling in Europe.
I and our advertising company once won a Australian Advertising award for print media back in 1980 for a series of one page colour ads we did on BMW motorcycles including one where we showed a BMW out in the desert with the contents of the panniers, which included a portable typewriter. I had comments about it for months /years afterward.
I spent weeks arguing with the ad agency about the language in the ad having to reflect Motorcycle language/jargon, and that they had to use Sentences FCS.
So there is more to ads than you think just by looking at them

The Jeep ads,all of them are ****. They give this idea there are some sort of serious adventure/exploration vehicle with a attention grabbing price then you look down the bottom in the fine print and it says 2wd models. Also every commercial for networks "reality" shows. And American infomercials that make every single simple task look stupidly complicated. That's all I can think of for now,I am sure others will come to me soon.
Any Toyota add, but especially the 1 where the idiot leaves the hand brake off and it goes over the cliff.... He should have gone straight out and bought a Jeep.
Cheers Ean
I would bet on Currumbin, because of the pointed rock in the background which I know from my Childhood and Surfers Paradise skyline in the distance. It is also a Hilux Life guard vehicle not sold in USA.Looks like a US ad to me
So there you go, I find it interesting.
Does that make me an adspotter as opposed to a train spotter?
Regards Philip A
