    British motorcycle safety awareness ad

I haven't seen the link posted here before. Some valid comments made on the post. Who thinks his mum is sending the message out to the wrong motoring sector?

Yep, not easy to watch. I think his mum is asking all motorists to slow down, irrespective of whether your on two or four wheels. Hopefully this campaign will slow drivers down, but on second thoughts I doubt it.
I drive a truck for a living, and some of the stuff I see day in day out, makes me wonder about people's disregard for human life, be it their own or someone else's.

A work colleague just the other day lost three generations of his family, from his wife's side, in an accident at Hatherleigh, SA.

    Speed kills, simple as that.

Ah, just re read my post, and thought I'd better clarify that my friends family were caught up in someone else's mistake.

"The family was travelling in a four-wheel-drive Ford Ranger when they were caught up in a collision between a Nissan utility and a flatbed truck on the intersection of Princes Highway and Main Rd, 15km north of Millicent, about 11.45am on Monday."

Know a bloke who attended that one in the SE the other day..is struggling to cope,
sort of situation where his bucket for coping with fatals etc is overfull..

Someone should point out how many nonrelatives or friends are affected..
cfs, ses, ambos, cops, towies, schools, clubs.

Sad but crazy to ride at that speed on a road where there is a chance that a car may pull out at any time. I have been in situations like that many times where cars have pulled out in front but these days as an older 'defensive rider' I have slowed down to the point where I have been able to take evasive action.
There was one occasion though in the UK though where I was unable to avoid a turning cab as I was going a bit quick as a 17 year old, luckily only shaved down the tips of my fingers on that one though.
These days I try to ride at a speed where I can get a look at the turning drivers face as you get some indication of what they are about to do from where they are looking etc, not possible at 97MPH!
