I may be a post whore, but i am good at my chosen profession.

Maybe there could be another forum for gardening and agricultural advice. Matt

We have regular "discussions" about the better vehicle (landies of course) and he recons that there is no chance in hell of him owning a landie, although he has done a few work trips in mine and been "supprised" (for want of a better word) at how capable and comfy it is. (one of the company cars is a 99 paj..... and it is rough as hell on dirt roads)

He believes that the new 100 series tojo is too big for his needs and is contemplating the new paj....

I want to get him into a S2, but i think it will be a little while before my dealer out here has one for play.

What chance do you recon I'll have if I can get him in a S2, or is it a waste of time??

    Cheers
If a 100 series is toobig then he probably won't want a S3 Disco from the size pov anyway. But worth a try.

You could still pick up a S2 Disco new, that would be a much better buy than a Paj (as you already know).

All you can do is tell him, and show him.

If he decides to buy the Paj, so be it.

Just be ready to say "I told you so :!: " when he shatters the carbon fibre tailshaft....

    From http://www.motoring.co.za/index.php?fArtic...=867&fSetId=381

"carbon fibre-reinforced plastic propshaft designed to collapse in a severe collision preventing possible protrusion into cabin."

    Hmm, that'd be expensive!

    Also, I like this quote:

"...the long-wheelbase Pajero is a soggy, unwieldy beast on the tar, with a vague steering action.

Unfortunately, the net result was a roll-over when we flicked the Mitsubishi into a tight corner at Gerotek's ride and handling circuit.

It simply cocked its wheels like a dog at a lamp post and tipped on to its right side when we simulated an emergency lane change - a worrying occurrence as a vehicle's not supposed to fall over simply by driving into a bend too fast, and usually needs to be tripped-up by something like a kerb or a ditch."
