If they read the label they would know that it wasn't ordinary milk.

How often do you buy some thing, lets say a grinder. It comes with all sorts of warnings which often end in "failing to follow these direction could result in injury or death"

You don't follow the instructions and you die. Do they ban grinders?

You don't see many cooks of Asian extraction purchasing their coconut milk from the beauty section at the local chemist.
The thing is, not many people buy their consumable dairy products from specialty beauty stores. The ones that do clearly know they are doing something wrong, dangerous even.

who reads milk labels?

the three year old that died, do you think he read the warning label?

if you have a young family generally you keep poisonous products (bleach etc) out of reach. most people wouldnt think to keep raw milk out of reach.

would the three year old of known he was drinking something potentially dangerous? or did he see the cow on the carton and wanted a drink?

just something to think about

Your above quote is intresting. I agree in the most part, but
1. Is it really intended as a beauty product, or just marketed that way to bypass a legal requirement so you can sell your raw product (which is cheaper to produce) to that market sector. I think the producers know it's being bought for human consumption, but of course are blame free because they marked the product 'legally'
2. The warnings weren't so much ignored. The consumer never intended to read past 'unpasteurised milk' they bought the milk with the full knowledge of what is was and what they intended to use it for.
3. Yes we should take responsibility for our actions. Unfortunately some (most) don't. And then we say hello to new legislation.

Lastly, if you can prove the parent poured the raw milk onto little johnnys cornflakes then they should be charged accordingly. That I think would be the deterrent.

cant supervise kids 24-7.


and you normally store poisons out of reach of kids. either up high on a shelf or in a locked cupboard.

What is the point of labelling anything then? Think of the "UNTREATED WATER - DO NOT DRINK" signs on the taps in various parks and gardens? If they don't get read, why have them?

The milk 'we' drink is the one that should be labelled as modified from it's natural state , pasteurised, homoginised, full cream, low cream, low fat, no fat, lactase added etc

Why do we have to continually have to protect people from their own deliberate actions.?

It is a personal choice deliberately made.

I have a personal choice , I don't drink milk , I choose to drink Soy.
