    Freight Cost From UK

I need a new vacuum pump for my 300Tdi. Paddocks have them for about $100 which I am more than happy with.

I emailed for a freight quote and they gave me an estimate of 48 pounds which is about $92.

This sounds expensive to me, considering a complete cyl head from Turners only cost me 95 pounds.

    So does $92 sound right?
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Freight from Paddocks to Oz does not cost less than GBP50 in my experience.
It appears to be the minimum.
Paddocks are generally not too bad.
The other end off the scale is Exmoor who wanted to charge me GBP300 for some GBP105 seat retrim covers.
Guess what happend to that sale.

Why not get some other stuff as well to spread the freight cost?

    Phil.

When our buying group does a bulk shipment from Foundry we normally pay about $16/kg...

HI nick I just looked at the web site and the Britpart is 58.80 pound and the wabco is 110.40 pounds. So it is dearer than what we have, (Bearmarch).
Just putting it out there. Heather

Brit part. My old Tdi is on its last legs and is now just being used as a work hack. I would chance a second hand one before the cost of a genuine.

I figure a ****part must be as good as a S/H one.

Try Rovercare which is an Aussie agent for UK LR suppliers - could be cheaper.
