That is another argument for using the "New Posts" button instead of the approach you and some others use.

Those of us who use the "New Posts" button would have noticed Inc's message the first time it appeared (as well as seeing the numerous reminders that the change was about to take place).

I often wonder why more people don't click immediately on "New Posts".

I'm not sure that its entirely down to not being aware of the changes - possibly , its not entirely understanding them and waiting to see what the differences will be in reality.

Apologies If I'm not making sense - I know what I'm trying to say !

I never even noticed that feature, will try it out, thanks for the tip.

For me as an old school software developer it's just an example of the Principle of least astonishment. To catch those corner cases (like me!) an in-your-face page you have to click through notifying non-subscribers about the changes every 24 hours would get the message across and would have been my suggestion. What Incisor has done with the blurb at the top of each page now is great though, essentially the same thing so no excuses really for being un-aware whatever method you access now.

This site is awesome and a credit to those behind it, and if they are feeling any heat over these changes I'd urge them to remember the old quote: "You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time".

There may be a small element who do not subscribe because the payment method has them flummoxed. It did me, when all I saw was Paypal or Direct debit - neither of which I use.

A PM to Inc eventually saw me sorted. The advice being use my Mastercard as a guest in Paypal, or go to DavecandoIT shop and pay there.

Well, I did not want my card number anywhere near Paypal. So off to the shop where all the options for payment were found ie Mastercard, Visa etc.

I'm curious why Inc didn't make the shop the first port of call for payment - many other useful thinks one could buy on the way to paying the sub.

Umm, and I would have chosen a roll over date removed from public hols.

Borrowing from the last global financial crisis, this is a site too big to let fail!

What is wrong with paypal? I have been using it for years. I reckon it is the best thing that ever happened to online bill paying.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
