Thread: Don't Shut Gorge Weir Gate

Looking for help, the road to Gorge Weir (and Blue Valley Weir) is shut. This is an area of good 4X4 and picturesque scenery. We have been accessing this are for years, as have 4WD Clubs and the like of 4wd Action people. It is situated on the end of Dalbeg Rd, on the Northern side of the Burdekin River just North of Home Hill and below the Burdekin Falls Dam. For those of little off road experience it presents as very difficult challenge. In times of rain it presents for everyone a challenge. The river sand banks change every wet season and is refreshed like pristine new. One way in and out and although only 12 or so Km, it can take some time to reach either destination. I know some smack heads have been in the area dumping rubbish and shooting, aggravating the lease owner. So What?
