On the bright side though. Because of this the price of Rangies is really cheap. A 1992 Rangie Vouge can be yours for $2760. Manly due to the fact that many people can afford to buy it but not to run it. So hence why most of the off roading days and site days in the UK is manly people in late 80's and early 90's rangies. Hacking them about and killing them for a pass time.
Lot of truck for not alot of money, but they are compaired to a horse, Buying it is the cheap part , keeping it is the expensive bit

Yes our diesels are thrifty and per litre we do get great mileage, but why is it that Diesel is now so expensive when a couple of years ago it was 20 cents a litre cheaper than Petrol?

How come the price of petrol goes up and down and the price of diesel just seems to go up and up.

Is it just me or is it that the Fuel co's (Shell and Caltex) are hiding high proices behind their fuel docket promotions.

Is it true that heavy vehicle operators get a claim back on the gst they pay on Diesel (or at least some tax break)

How come there is no fuel watchdog on diesel?

Oh the the bewdy, didnt the price of oil drop a couple of days ago? If yes then why doesnt the price of Dieso drop?

Basically ill tell you why, its because we just keep paying saying oh i get great mileage.... lucky im not paying for petrol ha ha ha ........time to pump up! (pardon the pun) lets mobilize and start getting other members of other sites fired up instead of taking it in the butt.

Mark my words if things keep gping the way they are diesel will be $1.50 per litre by christmas. - will it still be cheaper then??? I thinks not!


Oh and what happened to Bio Diesel the cheaper more enviro freindly alternative -the Govt taxed it to the hilt so on one can be botheres producing large commercial quantities to service the nation - well thats what i recon !

Thanks for that mate , but im no scientist and im not real keen on having a chemical reaction and using chemicals like Caustic Soda, and ethanol around the house - been to an exploded lab or two in my time, and personally for me in a residential area its not worth it, also there would have to me EPA issues with producing Bio in the home..... Now f i lived on a propert in the country id be making it 44 gallon drum at a time.

as for the city - I have run a tank or two of Biodiesel when you could get it from APS at Holbrook, and it was a great fuel with no noticable side effects ( and i have heard of them all)
