There are so many chairs availiable now that are comfortable, light, strong and fold up to 2/3 of stuff all.

Hint: The Warehouse does not have a good stock of sturdy chairs

I have the ones that fold up and slip into the bag. They are only the cheap ones as we dont use them that often. But i was camping with the club im in last year and one of the couples had some the same but they said they cost about $60 instead of $20. They were top quality and very strong. Stuffs me if i can remember what the brand was, but they got them from a specialty outdoors shop. Matt

The daily priority of comforts whilst touring:

8 hrs driving: The seats in the car.
8 hrs sleeping: The sleeping arrangements.
6 hrs bipedal activity: good footware
2 hrs sitting still: breakfast, lunch, dinner and beer.

No answer there but if space is at a premium?

Hi Guys
I have one of those Bunnings $8 at work, use it everyday for smoko and lunch. Its at least 14 months old, still going strong, its condom(bag it lives in)blew out at the bottom 2 weeks ago.I will keep using them, even if they only last a few months as they are comfortable enough, just chuck em in the bin when they get a tad trashy. And by the way I weigh around 110kg so it certainaly has survived the load test.

I have one of the original fold up Caribee space frame jobs now about 20 years old. 8O

Didn't they cause interest at the time. Cost about $60 at the time and now can be bought for $8.

personally i think most of those collapsable camp chairs are good, provided you pay over the $20 mark.... the $10-15 ones from Crazy Clarks etc. are good for spares for those who forgot to bring there own but not for yourselves.

Then it comes down to how you like to sit... more upright or recliner style, and how many accessories you want.... foot stool, drink holders, book pocket etc.

Just go to a camping store and sit in a few... actually, Land Rover has a collapsable, safari, director style chair... hate to think what they're worth though
