Ok, thanks, i will tell stacey, she wants a manual, and so do i, but if the auto is better its better. If we arent taking it off road (cause the disco will do all that, and stacey wont let me take it off road) is the manual still a problem? Matt
Yes - you'll still have to change gears

You may have trouble finding a TD4 Manual, there are not many ... because the auto is such a good combo.

S/hand the price difference should not be that much. Also I'm not sure if the TD4 manual came with the cruise (it was standard on the autos) - if you're doing lots of kms the cruise might be a worthwhile option.

Oh on that note - some people say that cruise increases fuel consumption - I use cruise all the time. Guess I'm not really trying to lower my fuel consumption - petrol, aircon, auto, cruise ops:
Dion, give up just buy a V8 Disco

I have always been told that cruise lowers fuel consumption, because you arent rapidly accelerating and the engine revs are controlled etc.

We are going to wait for a few months, now we arent getting the petrol, and save a little longer for the diesel. Do all the post 2000 models have the sports auto, with the triptronic option? Matt
All autos have the tiptronic, yes.
Goodo, that makes it a bit better if i have the option of driving it like a manual. Thanks, Matt

I just had a look on carsales.com and most were manuals, even though there were very few diesels, mostly pertol 4cyl models. By the looks of it to get a post 2000 model Diesel auto we are looking at close to 25-30k, better start saving. Matt

I bought it about 14 months ago ops: as a going concern. Stripped the interior ... then got busy with work and house renovations :?

Needs a mechanical tidy up and a few other things done to it - nothing major though. Just lacking the time to get it done properly.

Ouch indeed. I originally sold it to buy brettn's series SWB in the forsale section but stacey convinced me to spend the money paying off bills. Damn i hate it when you dont have a logical arguement to prove why your option is the smartest one to go with. Matt
