I did a little informal experiment from Friday to last night as I had to take the arduous journey to the dodgey western outskirts of Sydney.
From Colo River to Mulgoa, around Penrith and back, I passed a plethora of Series I Discos, a smattering of Series II, a solitary P38 Rangie, a couple of RRC's, two Defender Extremes and one 109 Series Three ute. Over twenty vehicles in all.

I ellicited one solitary wave from one of the Extreme's. 8O

In defence of the other Defender driver, the poor bugger was looking over his shoulder trying to change lanes on Parker St, Penrith as I went past in the other direction.

This is why Defender drivers only tend to wave to 'fenders and Series vehicles, it becomes just too

My experience is from admittedly a small sample and it is too easy to miss a wave or be busy in traffic when another Defender goes by, but notwithstanding that, I believe that the newer and more shiny the Defender (Extremes) the less likely you are going to get a wave. Have never managed to get any sort of friendly vibe out of a D90 for instance.

    Will keep trying though.

Did I mention this already ?

I was up at MR Automotive the other day and there was a red 109" FC. It was European registered and had stickers all over it from heaps of countries. One of the guys said it was doing a long-term round the world trip.

    How filth :!:
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

"gold" is still very current but may have peaked. "good times" is on the rise.

eg "I saw a red FC109......all over the world. Good times"

Well Thorpie certainly makes me fully sick (in the traditional sense).
