Cooper tyres chipped and stuffed

After reading the post on what tyres Ace was getting FINALLY and i know i'm a bit late i thought i'd show you what happened to my Cooper S/Ts after only 6000ks, and Ace should have emailed me as Kev suggested.

Have a look at these Cooper S/Ts only 6000ks old and i wasn't the only one with this problem they were replaced after a warrenty claim with some arguing by Brendon at Don Cornells with the newer S/T-Cs.
If you look around the tyre you can see the other lugs are cracked and ready the come off

I did not see this thread otherwise would have posted here about them i haven't been on here alot lately either ops: sorry guys anyway wise choice Matt but i would of gone for the 245/75/16s or the 265/70/16s more common in the bush.

Not consistent with what I had heard about Coopers tyres. Nor obviously what you had heard or you wouldn't have bought them in the first place. 8O

Let us know how the ST-C's go.

    Cheers

BFG wins the BFG Cooper battle again......

I've had both, i prefer BFG as a AT or Mud over the ST or STT.

    But.... i've not had problems....

My 30c, may not be fact, but good for an argument...

    I should go on BB.

coopers are a bloody good tyre... alot more has gone into the design of the coopers tyres and IMHO used for the correct application they are better than BFGs.

Cooper have addressed the issue with the S/Ts and they shouldnt be chippin anymore, afew guys have complained about chippin and stuff like that but sumtimes the driver is at fault, it all comes down to road pressures and if your offroad with two much pressure in the tyres you will increase the chance of chippin your presious tread

In saying that there is still nuthing wrong with the BFG Muddies, I like em and the old Cooper STTs were very similar, although the new pattern Cooper STTs have a far superior tread compound to both the old cooper stt and the bfg mud terrain and IMHO is a great tyre choice.

I wasn't comparing anything just posting what happened to my Coopers and apart from the chipping very happy with them and the newer S/T-Cs although given what has happened won't be buying another set of Coopers my old BFGs were a far better tyre, as for pressures factory pressures onroad 28psi front 38psi rear and 26psi all round offroad when i quoted these pressures to Cooper and the tyre shop no problem and just so as to clarify Cooper don't recomend any pressures to run their tyres at so i would assume that the car manufacturers pressures are what they should be set at.

for onroad stuff yes, also the S/T-Cs wont last aslong as the tread compund is softer.
Alot of people are very BFG religious and good on em (BFGs arnt a bad tyre) but if i was to choose between the new bfgs and the new coopers the fact that the coopers now have a better tread compound and also have stronger sidewalls is enough to swing me that way, not to mention that the new Cooper STT is currently bein looked at buy the drivers of competition buggies as their next tyre to test (they just waiting for a larger size to become available) is interesting

I myself may be getting a set for my dailly driver beach trekin treads and using the 37s for hardcore playin only
