    No, not a crater. The picture is taken from an escarpment. Here's another shot taken just to the left of the original which gives a better idea of the terrain.

    Think northern WA. Not exactly on the beaten track but easily accessible and with an outstanding view that literally take your breath away.

    These two photos really don't do justice to the fabulous view.
