Can you guys wait until I get home???? We are two hours behind over here.
I got to the Fortescue crossing about 20 posts too late. I worked at Kidston during commissioning and for twelve months after. We used to throw a dog in to check there were no crocodiles before swimming out to the pump diverting water during the dam construction.
Edit: It was always the Copperfield River Dam when I was there.
Edit again: First roll-crete dam in Australia. Only built to last the life of the mine.

A nice three room hut in a nice location.

With no responses so far, I thought you may need a hint so here's another 'graph of the same hut from the opposite side.

I haven't been there, Found it on the net using google after you posted the second pic, it was a bugger to find though.
Found a fair few places that I'm interested in looking at though while searching for this place.
Anyways,
Where abouts is this?
The picture is taken by me standing inside a national park, the road that you are looking at is heading West nor West by West out of the national park, and much further down the road into a State.
The road (at this end of it) has two names, one English, and one Aboriginal, either name will do as long as it is one of the names on the other photos that I have of the place.....
I believe that there is a number of other names for this road further along it though.....but I'm not after them.
I believe the first European exploration around the area was in 1872 or there abouts.
Mike.
