When I said "the same type of impoundment" as Lake Windamere, I meant it was a man made lake, not a natural one.
Further clue - it's NE of Windamere

Assuming we're talking about Lake Windamere and not Lake Windermere near Nowra or in Tasmania, then I'm guessing it's somewhere between Muswellbrook and Gunnedah, such as Lake Goran?

Sorry DM but you've gone north from Lake Windamere (near Mudgee) - but I agree, it is, broardly speaking, between Muswellbrook and Gunnedah.
Try going NE (north east) from Lake Windamere.
