Well done that man. The biggest rock in the world, although not that well known. A hard 3 hr climb to the summit

Are you sure that's from the 70's, there's a woman driving? "Man power" ha.
Judging by the shorts in a wet forest it's not Victoria , so great dividing range south of Cooktown, north of Coffs Harbour .I just noted the new plate so south of brisvegas.
I have seen this photo before somewhereBut where?

If I told you the guy second from the left is the late Bob Shannon, that may give you a clue as to where you've seen the photo before ................... but we are after the location/track where the photo was taken. Was once the annual Diff/Gearbox/Axle breaking trip until track was closed to 4WD's decades ago.
It's actually a guy driving - long hair was the order of the day for some in the 70's.Are you sure that's from the 70's, there's a woman driving? "Man power" ha.

You're correct on a couple of counts - it is on the great dividing range, it is south of Cooktown and it is south of brisvegas.![]()
