I'd have to say no to Tooth Knob. I've never heard of it and I'm not game to google it at work.

    Cheers,
    Jon

    What took you so long?

Bonus points for the name of the peak in the centre of the picture and the one I took it from.

    Back to you Roger.

    Cheers,
    Jon

Mt Eadley Stoney and judging from the angle it was probably taken from Mt Lovick - both named after legendary high country cattlemen.

Took a while as, although I've been through the area recently, it's been decades since I walked to the Bluff, which is the higher of the two peaks pictured. During our autumn trips we often ran into the cattlemen back when they were still allowed to summer graze their cattle up there - sadly that tradition has now been stopped and many once pristine campsites are now overun with with weeds and breacken.

After the name of the valley or general area for this next one with bonus credits if you can name the track the 'graph was taken from.

You're on the money of course.

I have mixed feelings about the cattle. Realistically they were doing a lot of damage, but I do miss them and the whole tradition. We always camp in a little saddle near Mt Lovick which was a favourite with cattle. They kept the grass under control which was good but they did crap everywhere. The track to Lovick's has deteriorated since they stopped maintaining it too.

When they first stopped the cattle it was a mess up there but I think it is gradually improving. The weeds seem to be dying off and its getting back to a more natural state - maybe that's just my perception though. I'm sure it's a good thing, but I do miss it.

One thing I do find disappointing is the number of places where they've pushed rocks around to stop you getting off the track. We've lost a lot of good campsites both around there and over on Howitt Plains where you could sneak off the track and get away from everyone. I get why they do it though.

I still love the High Country, but it's not the same as it was back the eighties when I first started going there.

Sorry, back to your normal programming....
