OK I'm loggging off now and won't be able to check this for a week or so.

Please turn up to the pub as arranged if you can - I'm looking forward to meeting a few of you.

    Cheerio,

    Vlad.

(The rest of you can keep yourselves entertained by solving my ongoing EAS problems - see technical forum thread re air suspension problems).

Hmm someone (aside from me) hasn't posted here so I'll just have to assume he and Marie hated me.

Seriously it was great to meet you people. Thanks very much for your great hospitality and offers of help over and above (thanks TP).

When I get around to downloading the pic from my camera I'll post it as well. I know there are a few other pics floating around too.

P.S. I'm out of holiday mode now so I'll have to curtail the Guiness drinking. The beer gut is telling me so. :!:

    I've created an album here:

    http://www.aulro.com/modules.php'set_album...=view_album.php

and added 2 pics. Sorry my brain is not in gear at the moment so some of the names/nicks leave a bit to be desired (Mrs Vlad will remember she's good at that sort of thing).

Feel free to fix it if you know the details.

Anyway they are a great bunch of people (whoever they are )

    Funny story:

On the last day of the trip (Friday) we went up to the Pinnacles on an organised tour. We were in one of those new-fangled Isuzu 4wd buses. Very comfy. I asked about the OKA's the driver (Bob) said that they were great 4wd's but not designed for the big number of high speed highway kms that get put on their vehicles and therefore are not that reliable. On the other hand, if they do break they can usually be fixed on the spot. For example, he once had the bolts holding an OKA's T/F case shear and drop the box out out the truck. He used a chain to hold it back in place "roughly" where it should have been - got home 800kms no probs.

Anyway (and you've probably seen this coming by now) the Isuzu broke down. Had dumped a heap of oil and the power brakes simultaneously failed (obviously the two were related). Given the rainy weather, it was unsafe t continue.

Long story short - we thought we would miss our place, but managed to get a ride on another bus so got back to Perth but missed the part of the trip that was 4wdriving on the sand dunes at Lancelin. Bugger, They ran a special trip the next day for those who missed out but we had to fly back to Brissie. Bugger.

Mind you it's not as cold over here.

Spotted this at a roadhouse on the way up to Cervantes in WA.

Naturally got chatting to the driver.

The series 3 had been rebuilt and looked in really good condition. The heater unit had been 'customised' by the previous owner - new pipe etc and actually worked :!: The truck has also been fully rewired (begone, Lucas, Prince of Darkness :!: ) and treated to a nice paint job. It was running a Holden 186 motor.

The current owner bought it for $2,500 from the bloke who had done it up (at a cost of $10K+ apparently) - what a bargain :!: He'd just driven down from Darwin in it, without any dramas at all.

Ya gotta love them Landies :!:

    G'day Vlad and Michelle,
and hello to Richard and Tracy, Cliff and Niki and Robert.
Maree and I had a great time last Tuesday, it was good to meet everyone and put a face to the name. I hope the next time will be over a BBQ and beer in the warmer months.
Look forward to meeting you all again in the not too distant future.
    Regards
    Maggsie
