Here we go AGAIN!

Well, I've lodged the VCAT forms since I've had no response regarding the indemnity. My guess is it'll now be about 3 weeks for a hearing unless Numpty sees the light and comes to the party.... but now I want my $167 application fee back as well.

You know I've been in various businesses over the last 30 years and have always gone out of my way to provide service at a better level than people expect. It hasn't led me to great riches to do this, but I know that I can look back and say that I always did the right thing along the way. I'm happy with that.

All that said, when someone like this riles me, I'll do whatever it takes to legally take them apart:twisted:

I had many problems over warranty issues with a major caravan retailer in WA and the manu in Vic who wouldn't answer emails.
I didn't muck about but went straight firstly to consumer affairs who after pussy footing around not wanting to upset "an icon of the industry" got my first claim fixed.
Then when things went wrong again consumer affairs were frightened to say anything so I went to the small claims court....and got a pay out for all our costs etc.
Now I've a wheel cover on the back of the van saying exactly what I want them and others to know.
They threatened me with court action but as I'm only saying I won't go back there again, what are they worried about?
I would have thought they'd be happy knowing that. :D
Most of these ****heads who are useless at their jobs and take us for mugs forget the internet is a great thing for spreading the word about what tossers they are.

I feel your pain, and surprised at the service you have gotten as I have had the opposite from the same shop where they were given the job of doing a 2nd rebuild on my tranny after the so called ZF specialists did the first job that did not last much past the warranty period.

Mate the last thing I want to do is what I'm doing now. Fact is, this transmission is only 6k in to a 50k warranty and I just don't think I should be copping it.

The key in this now would be a simple thing...... COMMUNICATION.

Sadly it's lacking.

We'll see over coming weeks I guess.

Well, last Thursday I got a call from the business owner. I agreed to put a hold on the VCAT hearing for 2 weeks so that another transmission company (who I've dealt with before) can assess the problem. I dropped the car off that afternoon as I had to go to Qld on Friday for work.

Just got a call from them. Yes, there is a definite shudder at lock-up. Think its the torque converter.... which is what I said it was:twisted:.

Further to this, the trans fluid is brown/black (this is after 5k) and there are metal bits on the trans sump plug.

I can feel a total rebuild coming on....... again!

NOT HAPPY!

I hope Allen you go them for an exchange car whilst yours is being worked on too. You have to be able to get around somehow.
Are they able to just swap out the converter to double check?

Even if it is just the convertor the auto will need to be stripped to clean.

Your right Dave, it will definately need to be stripped, cleaned, new o rings, seals and even new friction plates, but trying another converter will also "confirm" the diagnosis. (Although it may be a little difficult to find/know of a second hand one thats in good nick).

Till Thursday I have a Derecks car, so I can work. I'm going to press for a rental after that until mine is fixed. Really can't see that being until the end of next week.

I can tell you the instructions to the guy doing the work now are VERY clear... "Under NO circumstances is my box to be sent back to Shepparton!" The threat of legal action if they breach this order seems to have worked so far.

I'm wondering if they actually changed the trans cooler last time. If they didn't (The guy swears he DID, I've never believed him), then the breakdown now is no real surprise is it? It would have been full of **** and now its just gone around and stuffed everything again.
