You never know who might be listening.

Hi all, went to see mum and dad in rylstone today. On the way home we came throught Lidsdale past the powerstation at Wang and up the hill for home. As most of the people who have attended the BBQ's at my place know there is an over taking lane about half way home from the power station. Anyway heading up there was a bunch of blokes in cruisers, one heavily lifted one towing a camper was leading. In front of them was an old ford evonovan or something. Of course they all pulled out to overtake got level with the van and the leader ran out of puff, so i moved back into the normal lane as there was no point being in the overtaking lane. As they slowed down i was pulling along side the last cruiser just before the end of the over taking lane was about to end. I had no intention of passing them as i was to make a right turn about 500m later, and besides it would have been rude. I wish i had cut in now, heres why.

When we made the right turn a voice came on the UHF and said did anyone see that dickhead in the disco, oh he's making a right turn (how i am a dickhead i dont know, i didnt block the entire overtaking lane to not get past anyone and prevent all the quicker traffic getting anywhere as the road was packed due to all the syndey traffic heading home). Of coarse stacey grabs the UHF and say "That dickhead can hear you mate". No reply. So i grab the UHF call him a dickhead, and then ask the gutless ***** why he is so quiet now.

The moral to the story when you are on the UHF be careful what you say about fellow road users cause they might be listening. And also dont call someone a dickhead because you can follow the road rules cause you drive a gutless pile of ****. Matt

What ****ed me off was that they were the dickheads, they were in convoy and the slowest car was leading. It was a cruiser that was so highly lifted it floated around on the diffs like a tinny in open waters. He was struggling to get up the hill let alone have a go at passing someone. He and his mates bloke the entire lane and then call me a dickhead for pulling back into the normal lane. I had not intention of overtaking any of them, not only because i was going to turn off a little up the road, but more so because they were all tail gating each other. I pulled up along side the last cruiser but then backed off to give him plenty of room and I am the dick head. I wish i had said "god created cruisers to keep dickheads out of Land Rovers" and you ******* just proved his idea worthwhile" Matt

I can understand your anger, and would have reacted the same in the same situation.

May I use that last quote in future conflicts :?:

It would have been an excellent reply Ace, 10 out of 10

Yes I'm often getting in trouble with SWMBO for the rude gestures I give to idiot drivers.

Travelling back from Lithgow one time I noticed a few fellow Disco drivers. I put the CB on scan and picked up their chatter. I was travelling through Richmond and they decided to take a short cut. Unaware of my eavesdropping they suggested that I (the white Disco) be used as a bench mark for the shortcut (I was a couple of vehicles ahead).

Well when they joined the main road again they were still behind and I revealed my presence over the radio "Gentlemen, I am in the white disco and I am now further in front".

It took a few exchanges for them to realise it wasn't one of their own having a lend. I laughed.

Apparently they hadn't seen my gutter mounted antenna.
